Marriage Documents Cost
Document costs arrive in small separate payments. Enter the per-item charges and the quantities to see the total, and use the result to decide how many certified copies to order.
Apostille and consular fees are set by public authorities and change. Confirm the current charge and the accepted document type with the issuing office before paying.
Count documents, not steps
One document may need several steps: a certified copy, an apostille, a translation and a courier. The cost is driven by the number of documents and the number of pages, so a long certificate can cost more to translate than a short one.
Order certified copies in one batch where possible. A second round of couriers and appointments usually costs more than the extra copies.
What the fees are for
An apostille certifies the signature or seal on a public document; a translation makes the content readable to the receiving authority; a consular fee pays for a consular service. They are different charges with different issuers and different rules.
Keep receipts and a copy of every document sent. If a document is rejected for format rather than content, the replacement may need the same steps again.
Frequently asked questions
Is an apostille always required?
No. Some countries accept legalisation by a consulate instead, and some documents are exempt. Ask the receiving authority which route applies.
Can one translation cover several documents?
Sometimes, if the translator certifies the whole set. The receiving office decides what it accepts.
Should we courier originals?
Only if the receiving office requires originals. Courier both ways and keep a tracked copy.
